La Roche Posay Anthelios SPF 60 sunscreen $13 on Amazon right now

Affiliate Links

That's all! Just wanted to let you know that this popular sunscreen is marked down to $13 on Amazon right now. It's usually around $30 most places, so if you've been wanting to try it, now's a good time. (Full disclosure: I've tried it, and it wasn't my favorite, but I know I'm in the minority there.)

Amazon Prime Day Beauty Deals

Affiliate Links

So Amazon is having their annual sale extravaganza for Prime members. Honestly, a lot of the deals are not that exciting, and I get the impression that it's basically a clearance sale where they're trying to get rid of crap they have too much of. I would advise trying not to impulse purchase things just because they seem to be on sale (advising myself as much as anyone else), because it's hard to tell how much cheaper some things are than they were a week ago (regardless of whether or not they're labelled "30% off"). But if one of your staple or wishlist items is cheaper than usual here, you might as well get it now. You can click "Watch this deal" to find things that sound promising again later.

You can find all the beauty deals here. Here are some specific lightning deals that are coming up over the rest of the day (most of which are things I've tried myself in the past and liked): Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid, Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipsticks, Physician's Formula Eye Boosters Liquid LinerLime Crime Velvetines, L'Oreal Superstar Mascara, Nip & Fab Glycolic Pads, Body Shop Chamomile Makeup Remover, Acure Argan Oil or Marula Oil, Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Eyeshadow Palette, and the Wet Brush. I have no idea what the discounts on these products will be, but maybe there will be a pleasant surprise in there somewhere.

For those of you who don't have the time to stalk individual deals, there are also a bunch of "luxury" beauty products for 30-40% off. I was excited to see some Juliette Has A Gun fragrances in that section, but unfortunately the only two marked down are the ones I find least interesting: Romantina and Miss Charming. But this Instain blush trio from theBalm is tempting--I like the one Instain blush I have a whole lot (swatched in my previous post).

Also, if you've never purchased from the "luxury" beauty section, you can use the code NEW2LUXPD17 when you check out to get 30% off anything from that department. They have theBalm, OPI, Mario Badescu, Bioderma, Klorane, L'Occitane, La Roche-Posay, Clarisonic, Blinc, Zoya, Stila, LORAC, Jouer, Indie Lee, and a lot of other brands. Even though I am pretty sure I've shopped in the luxury section before, I was able to use the code to get the 1 oz. Juliette Has A Gun Lady Vengeance dropper bottle for $35.

So are you shopping or abstaining? Or are you above it all and not a Prime member to begin with? I'm not sure I'm going to renew my membership when it expires next month. I need to actually make shopping more difficult for myself.

Sunday Shopping: $7-9 blanket scarves on Amazon, American Apparel going out of business clearance

Affiliate Links

These blanket scarves plaid shawls look pretty nice for 9 bucks, right? Or $7 with code 2IH4OTIW. And they have 4.5 stars. I mean, they're acrylic but they're supposedly soft and machine washable, so . . . maybe I am just cold right now.

Any other good deals out there that we should know about?

ETA: I guess American Apparel went bankrupt and will be closing all its stores by April. Yay? That means 40% off everything. Yay!

(Sort of) free "luxury" beauty sample box from Amazon for Prime members (plus Zoya deal)

Affiliate Links

I'm working on a swatch-a-thon right now, so please accept this small offering in the meantime. Amazon is selling a box of samples for $20 (which probably isn't worth $20), but then you get a $20 credit to use in their luxury beauty department. So if you were planning to buy something from that department anyway (Stila, Mario Badescu, Jack Black, Oribe, OPI, Bioderma, La Roche-Posay, L'Occitane, theBalm, LORAC, etc.), you would basically be getting the box of samples for free with your purchase. Here are all the products that are eligible. Note that they say the samples in the box "may vary," and that this offer is only available for Prime members.

Also, Clara reminded me that Zoya is doing their usual deal where you get 4 "free" bottles of polish (or lipstick, this time) with $15 shipping. Or, as I like to think of it, 4 bottles for $3.75 each with free shipping. Use code 4ZOYA, ends Jan. 16.

Obviously, I will not be indulging in these deals, because of my No Buy, but if you decide to go for one of them, please allow me to live vicariously through you.

CoverGirl makeup for $2-4 on Amazon (and $3 Cetaphil coupon)

Disclosure: This post contains Amazon affiliate links.
For example, Clump Crusher mascara for $3 when you "clip" the coupon that page (or $2.70 if you do subscribe and save, which you can cancel later). Most of the products with coupons are mascara or foundation - here's the full list. I kind of want to try the Outlast 3-in-1 foundation, since I've heard it's good. Thoughts? Only one coupon per account, I believe.

There's also a $3 Cetaphil coupon here.

$2 off coupon for Simple skin care items from Amazon

Disclosure: This post contains an Amazon affiliate link.
You can get $2 off any one of the Simple products on this page if you are signed into your Amazon account. I can never figure out when Amazon coupons are going to expire, so if anyone knows the secret, let me know. My favorite Simple product are the Cleasing Facial Wipes (the regular one, not the exfoliating or oil control versions) (not drying, not smelly, effective). I also like the SPF 15 moisturizer (reviewed here).

Suave Dry Professionals Shampoo 95 cents from Amazon

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links.
This deal is very exciting for me, because the Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo is my favorite of the many dry shampoos I've tried. You can see my review here (same as above link). (Most recently I've tried Pssst! and don't like it much. I'll post a review soon.)

To get a can for 95 cents, go to this Amazon listing and check the "clip coupon" box to the bottom right of the product photo. That will deduct $1.50 from the price in your cart. Then on the right, where you add it to your cart, choose Subscribe and Save. You can cancel the subscription at any time. That brings it down to 95 cents. Shipping is free if you have an Amazon Prime account.

Even after the coupon expires or if you don't want to subscribe, it's still only $2.88 a can, which is as good as Walmart and cheaper than Walgreens.

Cheap, cute shoes with good reviews: does it get any better than that?

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links.
I meant to post this tip that was sent to me by vomohiper on Tumblr ages ago (thanks!), but it slipped my mind. Ollio Shoes on Amazon has a ton of really nice shoes styles ranging from $14-$25. The reviews are actually quite good too. Flats, heels, and sandals. The flats are my favorites:

$16
$17
$17

Here you go. Prices on Amazon seem to change rapidly, so you might want to be quick. (Found via Drugstore Divas.)

Blistex Moisture Melt Lip Protectant SPF 15 (awesome $2 filler for your Amazon order)

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links.
If you're ever trying to get your Amazon order up to $25 to get free shipping or to get your add-on items to ship free, and you're just under, but you don't want to buy some useless pack of zip ties or something, this Blistex Moisture Melt is what you should get. Get two or three of them, if you have to.

I think it's one of the best lip products I've tried in a long time, and I'm a really, really, picky bitch when it comes to lip products. I'd say that like 80% of lip shit feels good when it's on, but leaves my lips as dry or drier than they were before once it wears off. And I'm including more expensive products - that Fresh Sugar lip balm? Not moisturizing, in my opinion.

Anyway, this one feels good on, doesn't have any tingling (i.e. irritating) crap in it, has SPF 15, and actually improves the condition of my lips. Nouveau Cheap has a more detailed review of it, if you're interested.

It'll cost around $1.89, whether you buy it on Amazon or in a drugstore, and it works as well or better than most pricey stuff.

I've started using Amazon affiliate links.

So some of the links in my posts might be those. I figured I’m linking there often enough, I might as well. I’m still not going to shill for anyone. I’ll only link you to things I actually personally have tried and like. (For instance, I have a post coming up about products I don’t like, and I do not link to them.)

I will also include a disclaimer at the end of all posts with affiliate links, so you can avoid them if you want. If you don’t want to send that 12 cents my way, it’s cool. No, really. I’m okay with that. I MEAN IT.
