I've found my new PERFECT facial sunscreen, and I am so fucking happy!

Remember how my favorite sunscreen was discontinued? And I kept trying to find something to replace it? And then I decided this was as good as it was going to get?

I was wrong!

Someone on the Paula's Choice Facebook page mentioned that KINeSYS Performance Sunscreen Spray SPF 30 was a good replacement for the discontinued stuff, so I had to try it. AND BEHOLD. It's exactly the same. Fuck yeah! Basically take everything I said here and apply it to this product. This shit is the best. It's not the cheapest: it's usually around $17 a bottle, though drugstore.com currently sells it for $14. I use sunscreen on my face, neck, cleavage, and hands all year round, and, based on my experience with the Paula's Choice version, which, I reiterate, was exactly-the-fucking-same except in a slightly smaller bottle, a bottle of this will last over a year. I use cheaper, less perfect sunscreen on other body parts during the summer, if I need it.

Really, I can't adequately express how relieved and happy this discovery makes me. I can go back to wearing sunscreen every day without noticing that I'm wearing sunscreen every day. The bottle I just bought expires in 2016 and I am considering buying a few more just in case the worst should happen again.

I try not to tell people what to do most of the time, but if you love sunscreen, or you hate sunscreen but you think you should wear it anyway, and you are not sensitive to chemical sunscreen ingredients, BUY THIS SHIT. DO IT.

UPDATE: Yes, it mattifies.

  1. I'm not going to make any promises. I always break out if I wear physical/mineral sunscreens (anything with zinc or titanium), but not with chemical ones, so this is what works for me. Some people are sensitive to chemical sunscreens. Have you noticed any difference between the two? This is also in a base that is mostly silicone. Do you have any problems with silicone primers, etc.?

And no, it barely even has that sunscreen smell (like Neutrogena, etc.) when you're applying it - a couple of minutes later, there's nothing at all.

    1. Oh, good question. I remember thinking the other day that there was no shine after I put it on, which would make sense with the silicone base. But I didn't pay close attention. I'll make a note of checking tomorrow and get back to you. I've never noticed extra shininess, at any rate.
