Badass Hair: Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo

I previously reviewed Suave's regular dry shampoo and liked it. I thought I'd give their new version, also $3-4, a try.

I have very oily hair, so I love dry shampoo. Without it, I can't really go a day without washing my hair, and the greasiness after 24 hours really puts this shit to the test. Here's the top of my hair 24 hours after washing it:
Gross.
And here is it after using the Suave Keratin dry shampoo:
Looks clean! I can be seen in public.
I decided to see what would happen if I didn't wash my hair the second night either (GROSS), and when I woke up and brushed my hair, it still looked a lot cleaner than in the first photo. Without reapplying the shampoo. This stuff is pretty heavy duty.

Pros:
  • It does what it's supposed to do very well, i.e. absorbs oil and makes your hair look clean.
  • Adds volume.
  • Easy to use (spray on, rub in, brush out).
  • So fucking cheap.
Cons:
  • It doesn't smell as good as the other Suave dry shampoo. That one is sort of citrusy. This one is more old lady perfume. Fortunately, the scent isn't too strong, and it dissipates fairly quickly.
  • It does leave some white powdery residue near the roots. After brushing, this is more or less invisible in my hair, but if you look closely, you can see it. This might be a problem for people with darker hair.
  • Does not leave your hair feeling very nice. Kind of rough and stiff. It doesn't look it, though.
  • Can make your hair look kind of dull. You might want to follow up with some shine spray or something. (I'm going to review Rusk's, which is good stuff, soon.)
Overall, I like this better than both of the other 2 cheap dry shampoo's I've tried, i.e. the original Suave and Tresemme. It works better than both of them. The other Suave smells better, but didn't make my hair look as clean. The Tresemme smells worse AND doesn't make my hair look as clean. I'm going to stick with this one unless something else comes along to tempt me.

Have you tried it? What do you think?
