Sales and things (Urban Decay lipstick 50% off, Real Techniques brushes 20% off, NYX, Tarte, Palmers, etc.)

As always, I have a big backlog of things I'd like to write about and little time to do it. Boohoo. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I got married this past weekend. It was lovely, but even though it was a very small and very simple wedding, planning it still took over my entire fucking life. I did my own makeup, so I'll write a post about that once I get some photos back. It was fun. Now I have to get back to all the other things I neglected while I was preoccupied with that.

One of those things is buying basics that I've run out of, like body wash. I also decided to replace the Smith's Rosebud Salve that I recently finished, since it seems to work better than anything else to prevent red, flaky nostrils (you're welcome for that image!). One of the cheapest places I've found it is drugstore.com where it's under $6. But of course you have to spend $35 to get free shipping, and so I have been browsing the site for other things that I actually need, so that I don't pad my cart with superfluous shit just to save $2-3 on that salve.

In the meantime, I have found some things that I don't need, but maybe you do? I hate to see a good deal go to waste. For example:

Other current deals not from drugstore.com:
Anything else good out there today? I'll post something more substantive (with photos!) soon. Probably.

  1. I can't wait to hear more about your wedding makeup!

I keep going back and forth on Bittersweet. I was planning on buying it once I finished my tube of MAC Up the Amp, which is running low, but now I think I might just order it?? Is that stupid? What if UD doesn't actually discontinue the formula and we all feel like fools?

    1. I guess worst case scenario is that you get it for half price. Unless it takes you so long to finish Up the Amp that Bittersweet goes bad? But it doesn't sound like that's going to happen. Am I an enabler?

I am looking at Rapture and the matte Afterdark, but I already have so many MLBB lipsticks and do I really need another bold berry that I rarely wear???

  2. Firstly, congratulations! I got married last year and the wedding still takes over your life even if you want to keep it as simple as possible. I can relate!

Why did I have to be on a lipstick kick right now? Over the past couple of days, I ended up getting Rush, Blackmail, and Matte After Dark. I have a weakness for berries <3 I'm on a no-buy but these UD lipsticks are too amazing to pass up for $11!

    1. Thank you! What do you think of those shades? Rapture is now sold out from Sephora, so maybe I have been saved from myself After Dark is still tempting, though.

    2. I want to review these shades once they arrive. From what I can tell from swatches online, Rush is a nudey pink that I will use often. Berry tones pull kind of neutral on me so Matte After Dark will probably also look nice for everyday wear. Blackmail is the most daring shade I ordered. It looks super dark. But I figured I'd go for it since all the other vampy lipsticks I've tried look really neutral on me. Urban Decay actually sent me an email about me leaving a lipstick behind in my cart and they gave me a code for a deluxe sample of All Nighter. Blackmail was one of the last remaining shades, so I figured I'd just go for it since I've also been wanting to try All Nighter. Man, UD really knows how to work us!

  3. I am excited for wedding makeup details, because your IG selfie was so flawless!

If I had a superfluous $60 I might be tempted by that Tarte deal. I feel like I SHOULD be tempted by the UD lipstick sale, because 50% doesn't roll around everyday, but I don't actually want any Revolution Lipsticks and it's okay to not buy on-sale things (why is this so hard to digest??).

    1. Thanks! Of course I think my makeup worked out better when I practiced it than on the actual day, but I guess that's to be expected.

It's okay not to buy! I will tell myself that too.

  4. I've wanted a few Revolution shades for a while, but I almost always hate coughing up $20+ for a lipstick unless it's a very special shade or I have store credit. :P So I did grab a few at the $11 price!
